Petco Love’s support will expand adoption efforts, pet enrichment, and healthy outcomes for families and their pets.
Columbia Animal Services has received a $50,000 grant from the national nonprofit Petco Love to support its ongoing efforts to save pets’ lives and connect animals with families in the Midlands.
Petco Love, a national nonprofit founded in 1999, works to strengthen communities by funding adoption programs and lifesaving initiatives for pets. Since its founding, the organization has invested nearly $421 million nationwide, helping to unite more than 7 million pets with new homes through partnerships with thousands of local animal welfare organizations.
The funding comes as part of $12 million recently distributed to organizations across the country, all aimed at Petco Love’s mission of creating a future where no pet is needlessly euthanized.
“Our investment in Columbia Animal Services is part of our commitment to empower local organizations to drive lifesaving change,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “We also launched Petco Love Lost, a free national lost-and-found database that uses photo-matching technology to help reunite pets more easily with their families.”
Columbia Animal Services leaders say the investment will make a meaningful difference. Victoria Clary, Superintendent of Columbia Animal Services, called the grant “truly impactful,” adding: “Their partnership allows us to focus more intentionally on increasing life-saving efforts through enhancing pet enrichment programs and a more robust adoption experience. With this partnership, we’re not just finding homes, we’re creating healthier and happier journeys for our pets and the families who love them.”
