IRMO – One of the Midlands’ biggest high school football rivalries is set to light up W.C. Hawkins Stadium this Friday, October 31, when Irmo High hosts Dutch Fork High under the lights.
School District Five expects a capacity crowd for the varsity matchup and has outlined parking and safety procedures to ensure a smooth and secure game night. Gates open at 6 p.m., with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance through GoFan starting October 24, as only a limited number will be available. Tickets will designate home (Irmo) or visitor (Dutch Fork) seating and will be checked at entry.
Due to construction at Irmo High, parking will be limited. District-designated parking areas include:
- CrossRoads Intermediate School, 6949 St. Andrews Rd.
- Irmo Middle School, 6051 Wescott Rd.
- Irmo High School Bus Lot (access via St. Andrews Rd.)
- Front lot at Irmo High, 6671 St. Andrews Rd.
- Yellow Jacket Club reserved parking
Vehicles parked outside these areas may be towed at the property owner’s discretion. Pedestrians are reminded to use sidewalks and crosswalks and avoid construction zones.
Emory Lane will be closed between St. Andrews Road and McMillian Circle starting at 4:30 p.m. and will reopen after the game. Residents can access the area via Avery Lane.
School District Five will enforce its standard safety protocols, including the use of metal detectors, a clear bag policy, no reentry, and the requirement that students in eighth grade or below be accompanied by an adult. Umbrellas and costumes will not be permitted.
Pass holders — including SCHSL, Golden Pass, and District Employee passes — must enter through the designated pass gate on the home side near St. Andrews Road and show proper ID.
“This game always brings out incredible school spirit from both communities,” said a district spokesperson. “Our goal is to make sure everyone can enjoy the night safely.”
