CHAPIN – The Chapin High School Navy JROTC Booster Club will host its 3rd Annual Anchors Aweigh 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at Chapin High School.

The event serves two purposes: raising financial support for the NJROTC program and providing a family-friendly community experience focused on health, wellness, and fun. Organizers hope to make the run a beloved annual tradition, much like Chapin’s Labor Day Festival on a smaller scale.
This year, the event includes a new twist: a FREE Obstacle EGGstravaganza for children. Young participants will hop, skip, and jump through a series of interactive stations led by cadets, collecting treats along the way. After completing the course, families can enjoy a Fun Zone featuring face painting, balloon animals, inflatables, and craft tables.
In addition, the event is partnering with HIS Radio, which will promote the run on air in the weeks leading up to March 28. HIS Radio’s Fun Patrol will also be on site to help host the activities and keep the energy high.
Event organizers invite families of all ages to participate, whether they’re running the 5K, taking part in the 1-Mile Fun Run, or bringing kids for the obstacle course. Registration details, sponsorship opportunities, and volunteer information are available through the Chapin High NJROTC Booster Club.
