Church hosts resource expo for families

The United Women in Faith of Union United Methodist Church will be holding its Shower of Hope Community Resource Expo May 2, from 10 am – 1 pm, at Union United Methodist Church Family Ministry Center, 7582 Woodrow Street in Irmo.

It is a free event designed to provide valuable resources, information, and support to expecting mothers, families with children ranging from infancy and up, as well as kinship caregivers.

The expo aims to connect families and caregivers with local services, programs, and organizations that promote health, education, and well-being. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of resources, participate in interactive activities, and engage with community experts.

Event Highlights Include:

• Resource Booths: Meet representatives from local organizations and healthcare services offering support in areas such as prenatal care, early childhood education, childcare, nutrition, and more.

• Activities for Kids: Activity stations, face painting, and crafts.

• Giveaways & Raffles: Enter to win exciting prizes, including baby supplies, educational materials, and more.

“We understand the challenges that come with parenting, whether you are a new parent, raising grandchildren, or have children with special abilities” said Rev. Faye Jones, Pastor, and Event Visionary of Shower of Hope. “This expo is a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with vital resources and build a support network within our community.”

The event is free and open to the public. For questions, contact Rev. Faye Jones at faye@unionirmo or 803-781-3013 for more information.
