Classic Cars and Community at American Legion Post 174’s 5th Annual Car Show

IRMO – Shiny chrome, classic engines, and community pride were on full display Saturday, July 12, as the St. Andrews/Irmo American Legion Post 174 hosted its 5th Annual Car Show.

Held at the post headquarters at 801 Piney Woods Road, the event kicked off at 9 a.m. and drew nearly 50 vintage and specialty vehicles. The standout of the day was a beautifully restored 1933 Ford, shown above, owned by Tami and Dennis Dais, which was voted “Best of Show” by attendees.

The show featured a wide variety of cars—from vintage military vehicles to iconic Detroit muscle cars—offering something for every enthusiast. Guests enjoyed music, raffle prizes, giveaways, and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

Hungry visitors were treated to tasty food and drinks from local favorites Mission BBQ and Steve’s Classic Burgers.

The event wrapped up at 1 p.m. but left lasting impressions for car lovers and community members alike.

American Legion Post 174 has been a part of the Irmo community since it was first chartered in June 1987. In its early days, the group met at Lizard’s Thicket restaurant until they were able to raise funds for their current building and property.
