Clemson, USC game to feature former DF, Irmo wide receivers

Saturday’s annual Clemson–South Carolina showdown in Columbia will serve as a homecoming for two former All-State wide receivers.

Clemson redshirt senior Antonio Williams of Dutch Fork and South Carolina freshman Donovan Murph of Irmo will line up on opposite sidelines for the 4 p.m. kickoff at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Both players enter the rivalry game following standout performances.

Williams, who announced after last week’s game that he plans to enter the NFL Draft, caught two touchdown passes in the Tigers’ 45-10 win over Furman. He also reached 200 career receptions, moved past Jerry Butler for 12th on Clemson’s all-time receiving yardage list, and recorded a career-long 30-yard punt return.

In Columbia, Murph hauled in a 3-yard touchdown pass from quarterback LaNorris Sellers late in the second quarter of the Gamecocks’ 51-7 victory over Coastal Carolina. He secured the catch near the back of the end zone.
