Throughout October, the Irmo Branch Library is hosting a donation drive to support Midlands Orphan Relief, a local organization dedicated to helping children who have faced abandonment, abuse, or neglect. Community members are encouraged to donate new or gently used items, including:
- Children’s clothes and shoes
- Backpacks and school supplies
- Pajamas and coats
- Plush stuffed toys and books
- New underwear, socks, and toiletries
A donation box is available at the library from October 1-31. The drive is a collaborative effort between the Irmo Branch Library and the Lake Murray-Irmo Woman’s Club.
Midlands Orphan Relief’s mission is to provide essential support services to children in need, with a vision that no child should be without basic necessities, regardless of their circumstances.
