Coldstream Garden Club Donates Funds to Irmo Chamber Upon Disbanding

Nancy Nelson-Embler of the Coldstream Garden Club recently presented a check for $1,116.62 to Kerry Powers, President/CEO of the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce. This donation represents the remaining balance in the club’s operating funds following its decision to disband earlier this year after over 40 years of service to the Irmo community.

The Coldstream Garden Club played a significant role in various community projects, most notably the installation of the Blue Star marker in front of the town hall at the corner of Columbia Avenue and Woodrow Street in April 2010. The marker honors all men and women who serve in the United States Armed Services.

Throughout the years, the club supported numerous charities, maintained the garden area behind the Richland Library on St. Andrews Road, and decorated Christmas trees at the Lake Murray Visitors Center each year.
