SAGAMI WAN, Japan – Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Tywane Davis, a Columbia, South Carolina native, recently played a key role during a small boat operation aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John Finn (DDG 113) on June 23.
Davis was photographed establishing communication with the bridge as part of routine operations while the ship was underway in Sagami Wan. USS John Finn is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15 — the Navy’s largest destroyer squadron and a key component of the fleet’s surface forces in the Indo-Pacific region.
