PACIFIC OCEAN – U.S. Navy Fireman Ronald Boozer, a Columbia, S.C., native, is serving aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) as part of Carrier Strike Group Three.
While at sea in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations, Boozer recently put his skills to work in the ship’s machinery repair shop — building gym equipment for fellow sailors. The Abraham Lincoln is underway conducting routine training operations, ensuring the crew remains ready to respond across the full spectrum of the Navy’s mission in the Indo-Pacific.
The U.S. 3rd Fleet provides realistic, relevant training to maintain the readiness of naval forces and continues the Navy’s tradition of service at sea.
The U.S. Navy is celebrating its 250th birthday this year.
According to Navy officials, “America is a maritime nation and for 250 years, America’s Warfighting Navy has sailed the globe in defense of freedom.”
