IRMO — Irmo Councilman Mike Ward recently visited Cub Scout Pack 95 to talk with scouts about voting, elections and how local government works.
Ward discussed how local elections affect everyday life and why civic participation is important, emphasizing the value of learning about government at a young age.
“When kids understand how local elections work, they start to see how their community makes decisions,” Ward said.
The visit reinforced Scouting America’s focus on citizenship, leadership and community involvement. Pack 95 meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in Irmo. For more information, contact the Cubmaster at [email protected]
