Golf tourney raises funds for Sharing God’s Love

Sharing God’s Love raised $20,963 through its recent annual Sharing God’s Love Benefit Golf Tournament.

Eighty-two golfers participated, and a total of sixty-seven sponsors provided the record amount of funds raised by the event. Fifty merchants contributed prizes. The Spur at Northwoods hosted the event and provided lunch for the players and volunteers. The golf outing is one of three fundraisers conducted each year.
Spring and fall yard sales also provide the needed finances to help sustain the charitable service.

The local ministry has provided assistance to families in need in Irmo, Dutch Fork, St. Andrews, and Ballentine communities since 1984. It continued to serve even during the COVID 19 pandemic through special accommodations to its clients. This year, as of the end of August, 4,539 people have been helped with food and clothing, and 356 families have received a total of $77,624,64 in utility assistance. School supplies valued at $8,970 were awarded to 239 students.

Sharing God’s Love is located at 147 Friarsgate Boulevard in Irmo. Hours are Monday – Friday from 9 am – noon for clients and donations. It is also open during the same hours on Saturday to receive donations of food, clothing, and financial contributions. For more information call 803 732-3188.
