IRMO, S.C. — Irmo Mayor Bill Danielson presented a $50,000 check to Irmo Little League President Bobby Jensen during a ceremony Wednesday, Jan. 21, at H.E. Corley Elementary School.
Joined by Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Barb Waldman, Mayor Danielson spoke about the importance of Irmo Little League to the town and the impact the program has on local youth.
“The Town of Irmo is fully behind the Irmo Little League,” Danielson said. “Dr. Waldman and I took it upon ourselves to ensure this program continues to prosper under our leadership and that it is included in the town’s budget every year.”
Town leaders announced a long-term goal of allocating $250,000 in hospitality tax funds to Irmo Little League over the next five years.
Irmo Little League enjoyed a banner year in 2025, winning five state championships and making four World Series appearances. The organization is celebrating its 32nd year and is expected to serve more than 1,000 players across its spring and fall seasons.
