Irmo breaks ground on new basketball court at Rawls Creek Park

Irmo — Officials with the Town of Irmo held a groundbreaking last week for a new full-size basketball court at Rawls Creek Park on Friarsgate Boulevard.

The outdoor court will include benches and a water fountain and is expected to open to the public within the next month.

“This park is really shaping up,” said Bill Danielson. “We have the skate park, two dog parks and a community garden all right here, and next will be the all-inclusive park area.”
