Irmo celebrates Arbor Day

The first Friday of December marks National Arbor Day and the Town of Irmo celebrated by planting a white oak tree in the Community Park of Irmo.

Irmo is a part of Tree City USA which means Irmo plants a lot of trees and has created an urban forest around the town. The town maintains a tree board or department and celebrates Arbor Day each year. Tree City USA began in 1976 and boasts more than 3,600 recognized communities.
