Another week, another dominating performance on both sides of the football for top-ranked Irmo.
The Yellow Jackets entered The Swamp last week and emerged with a 56-14 win.
Quarterback Dre’Von Dopson completed 11-16 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Both were caught by Airport transfer Jay Eady, who had four receptions for 94 yards.
Wide receiver Maleek Miller had a team-high five receptions for 98 yards.
Backup Britton Davis also saw action for the Yellow Jackets. He completed 4-7 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 42 yards.
Running back Amire White led the ground game with 15 carries for 191 yards and two touchdowns. He had two scores called back due to penalties.
Irmo (7-0, 2-0) returns home Friday for a Region 4-5A matchup with White Knoll. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Timberwolves during the regular season and the Class 5A Division II Lower State final.
VOLLEYBALL
Dutch Fork and Irmo close out the regular season against each other at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Temple of Doom.
This will be the final match of the season for the Lady Yellow Jackets who are winless in Region 4-5A. The Lady Silver Foxes were a game behind White Knoll for the final playoff spot.
