Irmo Fire department hosts Back to School Bash

Irmo Fire partnered with Beginnings-SC to host a Back to School Bash for deaf & hard of hearing families.

The 7th Annual Back to School Bash for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Families was a fun, educational event for the deaf & hard of hearing community, and was packed with numerous resources & school supplies for each family in attendance.

This was a great opportunity for Irmo Fire to teach the hearing impaired community about Hard of Hearing Smoke Alarms. This life-saving technology works with smoke alarms to notify deaf/hard-of-hearing individuals of a potentially life-threatening emergency. Applicants were able to receive these devices for free from the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
