The Lowcountry was where the 2025-26 high school basketball season ended for Irmo High
School.

After a 38-27 win over Myrtle Beach to open the Class 5A Division II playoffs, the Lady Yellow
Jackets fell 65-24 to Berkeley last Saturday in the second round.

They finished the season with a 16-11 record. Eighth-grader and Region 4-5A Player of the Year
Lailah Singletary and guard Abby Livingston were selected to the S.C. Basketball Coaches
Association’s All-State Class 5A team.

The Irmo boys fared better against the host team Stags last Friday. In the second-round
matchup, the Yellow Jackets defeated Berkeley 59-46.

On Monday, it traveled to Goose Creek for a berth in the Lower State final. After rallying from a
17-point deficit to force overtime, the Yellow Jackets lost 71-66.

“You know they’re going to make a run,” Gators coach Blake Hall said of Irmo. “I felt like we
relaxed a little bit and let them get going. Once that snowball starts rolling, it can be hard to
stop sometimes.”

Irmo (20-8) had a 64-63 lead in overtime, but were outscored 8-2 in the final minutes. Christian
Brown led the Yellow Jackets with 25 points. Forward Oshon Bowman added 16 points and
sophomore wing Kaleb Copeland finished with 14 points.
