After last weekend’s little league baseball tournaments some Irmo Little League (ILL) teams have added titles to their records.
Irmo’s Intermediate team played against Summerville and Easley in a one-day state tournament on Saturday and came away undefeated to win the state title. Irmo defeated Summerville 26-4 and then beat Easley 16-0 to win the tournament.
The ILL’s Juniors baseball team earned a slot in last week’s three-day state tournament and lost two games on Saturday to fall out of contention.
And Irmo’s 10/11/12 year-olds team was set to compete in the semifinal game against Laurens on Wednesday in an effort to advance to the title game against Northwood on Thursday. Both Irmo and Laurens had a 2-1 tournament record as they headed into the 6 pm semifinal round.
Earlier in July Irmo’s 9/10/11 year-olds team made it to the single elimination round, but took a loss against Greenville to end the season. In pool play Irmo lost to Northwood, then beat Union County to qualify for the single elimination round where it lost to Greenville — the tournament runner-up — 12-2.
