IRMO, S.C. — Irmo Middle School celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special Anniversary Night during its September 9 football game against Newberry Middle School.
The evening included a pregame ceremony recognizing several special guests, including School District Five Superintendent Dr. Akil E. Ross Sr., Irmo Middle School Principal Mansa Joseph, and Irmo Mayor Bill Danielson, who performed the ceremonial coin toss.
The Irmo Middle School football team marked the milestone by wearing special yellow jerseys for the game. Faculty and staff attending the celebration also showed their school spirit by wearing commemorative 50th anniversary shirts.
The celebration gave students, faculty, staff and community leaders an opportunity to recognize five decades of Irmo Middle School and its role in the community.
