Irmo Partners with HUSH No More for Walk to End Domestic Violence

IRMO – The Town of Irmo is joining forces with HUSH No More to host the Community Walk to End Domestic Violence on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon at Moore Park (7374 Church Street).

The free, family-friendly event is fully accessible for individuals with disabilities and will feature a keynote message from Goddest Jenkins, former Ms. Blind USA, a domestic violence survivor, and U.S. Ambassador for the Blind & Visually Impaired. The morning will also include a survivor tribute, live performances, a kids’ zone, miniature horses, nonprofit resources, and local vendors. Free t-shirts will be provided to participants who register by September 24.

Founded by survivor and advocate Dr. Vanessa Guyton, HUSH No More provides free counseling and resources for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, sex trafficking, sexual harassment, and other difficult “HUSH Topics.”

Irmo Mayor Bill Danielson praised the effort:
“Domestic violence impacts far too many families in our community, and it’s time we speak out together. Irmo is proud to partner with HUSH No More to ensure every survivor feels seen, heard, and supported.”

Citizens are encouraged to bring their families and stand in solidarity with survivors. To register or learn more, visit www.hushnomore.org/dv-walk
