The Town of Irmo is helping ensure local children experience the magic of the holidays by partnering once again with Toys for Tots, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s long-standing charitable program dedicated to supporting families in need.
Community members are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys by placing them in the official Toys for Tots collection box located on the front porch of Irmo Town Hall, 7300 Woodrow Street. Donations will be accepted through the first week of December, giving residents plenty of time to help brighten Christmas morning for a child in the community.
For more than 76 years, Toys for Tots has provided hope, comfort, and joy to children across the United States. Since its founding in 1947, the program has distributed millions of toys, books, and gifts—positively impacting the lives of more than 291 million children nationwide. The organization operates year-round, but its holiday mission remains at the heart of its work: ensuring every child feels remembered and valued during the Christmas season.
“Every child deserves the joy of Christmas,” said Danielle McNaughton, Town of Irmo Communications Manager and Toys for Tots Campaign Coordinator. “By donating to Toys for Tots, you can help create a special holiday memory for a child in need.”
Irmo officials hope that residents, businesses, and organizations will rally behind the effort, continuing a tradition of generosity that strengthens the community each year.
