Irmo’s Donovan Murph Named Bridge Builder Excellence Award Semi-Finalist

IRMO, S.C. – Irmo High School senior Donovan Murph has been named a Top 10 Semi-Finalist for the 2025 Bridge Builder Excellence Award, presented by the Spinx Corporation. The prestigious honor recognizes South Carolina high school football players who demonstrate excellence not only on the field, but in the classroom and their communities.

As a semi-finalist, Murph is now in the running to receive scholarship funds and further recognition during the 12th Annual Enshrinement ceremony on April 17 at Hotel Hartness. The top three nominees and overall winner will be announced at the event.

Murph, a standout wide receiver committed to the University of South Carolina, boasts an impressive athletic resume. His accolades include:

  • 2x 5A First Team All-State
  • 2x First Team All-Region
  • Region 4-5A Offensive MVP & Player of the Year
  • 2023 Aun & McKay Outstanding Offensive Player

He is widely recognized as the top wide receiver in the state and is ranked among the Top 20 nationally.

But Murph’s accomplishments extend far beyond the football field. With a 4.127 GPA, he is on track to receive College and Career Ready Seals of Distinction on his South Carolina high school diploma. Murph is also a member of the Irmo High School Key Club, where he gives back by mentoring at-risk elementary students.

“Donovan Murph is a super young man with a super work ethic,” said Irmo Head Football Coach Aaron Brand. “The sky’s the limit for his potential, and we are so proud of him and wish him the best.”

As a semi-finalist, Murph will be invited to take part in #BBEA25Day celebrations, attend South Carolina College Decision Day at the State House on May 7, and share his story on the SCFHOF Sports & Leadership Podcast, hosted by Chairman David S. Wyatt.

The 2025 Bridge Builder Excellence Award is supported by the Sturgis Family, Wyatt Law, PA, and several statewide partners.
