When Precious Bross looks back on 2023, some of her high moments in softball took place with Minority Softball Prospects.

The national organization provided the University of Georgia signee an opportunity this summer to play at the Jennie Finch Classic in Seattle, Washington. Bross’ Toni’s Promise team proceeded to roll to the championship, winning all six games by a 76-4 margin led by her .450 batting average and 13 RBI.

Just before Thanksgiving, Bross got another opportunity to reunite with her Promise teammates and Minority Softball Prospects. This time, the site was the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla. for the All-American Game.

“My experiences with Minority Softball Prospects has blessed me in more ways than they know,” Bross said. “Not only has it created many opportunities for me, it has allowed me to create relationships with countless outstanding people from all over the country. Not only have they given me opportunities on the field, but off of the field as well.

“Through these experiences, I have built so much confidence within myself, with the media, and helping others in whatever way possible. I’m forever grateful for all they have provided to softball players, like myself, and I’m so excited for what is ahead. They have truly highlighted to the world what it looks like to showcase minority talent.”

Bross was given more of a leadership role as the captain of the Pink Aces. The team participated in the Class of 2024 All-Star Game against the Blue Angels.

The Aces came away with a 1-0 victory over the Angels. Even more satisfying as the win was Bross getting to team up once again with her Promise teammates.

“I have formed such strong relationships with many of the girls from that team,” Bross said. “ Each of us is extremely competitive, but at the same time hold so much love for one another so overall it felt like friendly competition during the game. We also all bring so much energy to the field which created such a positive atmosphere. It really just feels like one big family.”

With the holiday break, Bross plans to spend the winter recuperating from her busy year and hone in on her fundamentals going into her senior season.

“I believe it’s very important to take the proper time to heal your mind and body, especially when playing year-round, while also getting in the grind to get ready for what’s next,” Bross said.
