Irmo, SC — World-renowned trumpeter, composer, and bandleader Sean Jones will take the stage at Harbison Theatre on Friday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. as the featured guest of the SC Jazz Masterworks Ensemble in their season finale concert, “Virtuoso Trumpet Star Sean Jones.”
Known for his incredible talent and versatility, Jones spent six years as lead trumpet with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and has served as musical director of the SFJAZZ Collective. His career includes performances and recordings with jazz legends such as Nancy Wilson, Dianne Reeves, Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, and Wayne Shorter.
“Sean is one of a kind; one of the best jazz trumpet players of all time,” said Dr. Robert Gardiner, founder and director of the SC Jazz Masterworks Ensemble. “This season’s finale concert will certainly be one to remember.”
Jones currently serves as Artistic Director of the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, Artist-in-Residence at San Francisco Performances, and a member of The SFJAZZ Collective. He was recently appointed Artistic Director of Carnegie Hall’s NYO Jazz program.
