Jeanette McGee Coulter, 85, of Irmo, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 25th.

The funeral service to honor her life will be held on Monday, December 8th, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Union United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.

Jeanette was born on August 8th, 1940 in Saluda, South Carolina to the late Benjamin Frontis McGee and Corrie Lynette McGee. She enjoyed a successful career in banking for 40+ years, beginning as a credit clerk and progressing to a Vice President. She served in many organizations throughout her lifetime, including the Lake Murray Irmo Women’s Club as Vice President, the Lake Murray Irmo Rotary Club as President, and the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce as Interim CEO. She was a long time member of Union United Methodist Church and the John Rowland Sunday School Class.

She enjoyed spending time on Lake Murray, tending to her expansive plant collection, being an Elite Belk shopper, and pup sitting her numerous grand dogs.

“We will miss our ‘Jeanettie-Poo’ ,” said Kerry Driggers, President/CEO Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce. 

“She was a treasure to this Chamber and a thread in the fabric of the Irmo Community.”

Jeanette loved her family and served the Irmo community faithfully through her work with Union United Methodist Church, Lake Murray Irmo Rotary and, of course, the Irmo Chamber.  Jeanette was the 2nd President of the Irmo Chamber and played an integral part in paving the way for the success of the Irmo Chamber we know and love today.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jerry Coulter; children, Randy Pugh (Tammy), Lynn Derrick (Curt), Tammy Bundrick (Randy), Jennifer Coulter (Isaac), and Jeremy Coulter (Kelly); grandchildren, Mallory, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Jayme, Jase, Amanda, Kellyn, Joey, Erin, and Ava; and great-grandchildren, Tailor, Spencer, Alex and Randall.

“She will be sorely missed in the Irmo community,” said Irmo Mayor Bill Danielson. “Jeanette was a pleasure to work with one of the most wonderful women I’ve ever known.”

She is predeceased by her brother, Benjamin Felder McGee and sisters, Josephine White and Lavenia Jackson.  

Her family would like to thank the staff of the Lexington Community Hospice House for the love and kindness shown to Jeanette and her family.
