Lake Murray Country to Host B.A.S.S. Elite Series in May 2024

Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) is proud to announce that the Bassmaster Elite Series will return to Lake Murray in 2024. Since 1991, B.A.S.S. has visited Lake Murray ten times with its most recent trip, in April of 2023 which proved to be an angling favorite on the Elite Series schedule. The 2024 Lake Murray event will be held May 9-12 at Dreher Island State Park.

Lake Murray “provided one of the more entertaining events on the 2023 schedule, with Florida pro Drew Benton reeling in 87 pounds for the victory” states B.A.S.S. Earlier this Summer, Lake Murray was named number four on the B.A.S.S “100 Best Bass Lakes of 2023” and number one in the Southeast by Bassmaster Magazine after producing a staggering 49 limits of 20 pounds or more.

“We know Lake Murray will deliver a challenging event to the professional anglers and the final weights will be strong,” said Miriam Atria, CCLMC President/CEO.

The B.A.S.S. Elite Series schedule includes nine regular-season events in six states. Along the tournament trail, these talented anglers will battle each other — and big bass — for the prestigious titles of: “Progressive Insurance Bassmaster Angler of the Year,” “Dakota Lithium Bassmaster Rookie of the Year,” and “Elite Series champion.”

B.A.S.S. CEO Chase Anderson lauded the schedule as another great opportunity for the best professional anglers in the world to showcase their talents in diverse and exceptional fisheries.

“We just finished one of our best seasons ever only a couple of weeks ago, and it is already time to start marking your calendar for another incredible year,” Anderson said. “Anyone who follows and celebrates the sport of bass fishing will recognize the lakes on this schedule as some of the best fisheries anywhere, and we could not be more excited to get it started with the top anglers in the world competing on bass fishing’s biggest stage.”

Since the start of the year, more than 10.4 million viewers have watched Bassmaster coverage on the FOX networks and, once again, fans in 2024 can catch all nine Bassmaster Elite Series events, as well as Bassmaster Classic, live television coverage on the FOX Sports platforms.
