Donations Accepted October 25 at Food Lion on St. Andrews Road
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Lake Murray–Irmo Woman’s Club is holding a USO snack food drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 25, at the Food Lion located at 6021 St. Andrews Road in Columbia.
The drive will collect individually-wrapped snack food items to support service members traveling through the USO lounge at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.
Earlier this year, club members volunteered at the lounge and saw firsthand the impact of the USO’s work — and the ongoing need for snack donations.
“The opportunity to serve our servicemen and women was very rewarding,” members shared. “We learned the need is ongoing, and this is a simple way for our community to show appreciation and support.”
The USO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on community donations and volunteers to provide comfort and care to America’s military members and their families.
