The Lexington County Museum will host its 29th Annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 14, from 1–4 p.m.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Christmas traditions of the past, as most of the 30 historic structures on the museum’s 6.5-acre complex will be open and decorated with authentic 19th-century holiday décor.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments—including hot apple cider and gingerbread—will be served.
This year’s open house will feature a blacksmith demonstrating his craft, along with a 19th-century cooking demonstration in the museum’s restored 1830 kitchen. Guests can also enjoy Christmas singing in the c. 1832 John Fox House and additional period demonstrations throughout the grounds.

The Lexington County Museum is located at 231 Fox Street in downtown Lexington.
Founded in 1970, the Lexington County Museum interprets the history of Lexington County from the colonial era through the Civil War, highlighting daily life through historic buildings and locally made artifacts such as furniture, textiles, weapons, and pottery.
