Local Artists Group Rotates Art

Irmo is seeing an increase in public art thanks to the involvement of a local group, The Artists of Irmo. This loose affiliation of local visual artists has committed to keeping art at several venues around the town on a rotating monthly basis. Two locations that are on the rotation are the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce “Chamber House” and the Irmo Town Hall.

Local artist Sean Madden placed several art pieces at Townhall during March; Kimber Carpenter displayed artwork at the Chamber House during March.

If you are a local artist interested in getting involved and being added to the calendar, please contact the group at [email protected]; if you are a business owner who would like to host local artwork at your place of business, please reach out at the same email address.

Organized by portrait photographer, Kimberly Case of Studio 3P, the Artists of Irmo group was formed to shine a light on the incredible creative talents that Irmo has to offer. Art reflects a community and its surroundings working to cultivate a cultural identity by setting a community apart and attracting people to its uniqueness. Art also fosters community pride and a sense of belonging, and enhances the quality of life for its residents and visitors.

Carpenter says, “We, as artists, are excited to be a part of the unique opportunity of sharing our work with our hometown community. We feel that Irmo is filled with an abundance of talented artists who have a passion to create and share their unique work.”
