The Rotary Club of Lake Murray-Irmo is partnering with The Irmo Police Department
Community Foundation to fund the purchase of a drone for the Town of Irmo Police
Department.
On April 19, 2022, The Rotary Club of Lake Murray-Irmo will be hosting the 2022 Annual Golf
Tournament sponsored by Charles Schwab. The proceeds from this event will benefit the Town
of Irmo Police Department and the CART Fund (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust).
They are joined in their fundraising efforts by The Irmo Police Department Community
Foundation who has already raised funds towards this great cause and is partnering with the
Rotary Club to promote the upcoming tournament.
According to a town official, the drone will be helpful in capturing criminals (such as those
involved in car break-ins), locating missing persons and more.
The Rotary Club of Lake-Murray Irmo is requesting the support of the community for what they
hope will be a great event. Interested individuals can show their support by registering a team
to golf, purchasing a sponsorship, or making a donation to The Rotary Club of Lake Murray Irmo Foundation which is an IRS-approved 501©(3) organization.
The tournament starts at 1:30 pm with a shotgun start and is being held at the Mid Carolina
Club in Prosperity. Registration and lunch begin at 12 pm.
