A fire at a nail salon in Tuscany Village Shopping Center, located at 1085 Lake Murray Boulevard, forced the temporary closure of neighboring LUXE Hair Salon earlier this year.
The January fire caused extensive water, smoke, and electrical damage to the salon. After several months of repairs, LUXE has reopened with a fully restored and updated space, featuring new drywall, fresh paint, a natural concrete floor, and all-new equipment.
Due to smoke damage, the salon replaced its styling, dryer, and shampoo chairs. The HVAC system was also destroyed during a power surge and had to be completely repaired and replaced.
“I can’t say enough about ServPro, especially Troy and Chelsea, who always responded when I reached out,” said owner Nancy John. “There were a lot of moving parts, and Troy was on point consistently.”
On the night of the fire, Trent Caulder of Southern Outdoor Services arrived quickly to secure the building and help protect salon equipment.
The fire was reported by an employee who had been attending a nearby Christmas party at the Bistro Restaurant. The Irmo Fire District responded within minutes. The nail salon where the fire originated was completely gutted.
John credited family and friends—including George, Jay, Dave, Chris, and her friend Pam, who traveled from Florida multiple times—for helping with the extensive cleanup and rebuilding process.
She also thanked her staff—Julie, Kim, Megan, and Tessa—for their hands-on support, with special recognition for Megan’s technical assistance.
“It has been a difficult but empowering journey,” John said.
LUXE Hair Salon officially reopened March 23 and can be reached at 510-307-7922.
