IRMO – The community is invited to “Think Globally by Acting Locally” at the third annual Irmo Community Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McGregor Learning Garden (6505 St. Andrews Road).
This free, family-friendly event encourages environmental awareness and sustainability with activities for all ages. Attendees can swap or purchase plants and donate unwanted items for repurposing and recycling, including:
- Shoes, clothing, and textiles
- Old rechargeable devices
- Aluminum cans and plastic bags
Additionally, guests can bring garden tools for sharpening, with donations benefiting the Snack Pack Program for D5 schools.
The event will also feature interactive learning stations on topics such as native plants and wildlife, clean water conservation, local recycling programs, and landfill management.
