Midlands Striper Club holds February tournament

The Midlands Striper Club held its monthly tournament on Lake Murray out of Acapulco, SC on Feb. 17.

Twenty-two teams participated in the event bringing thirty-four striped bass to the scales weighing a total of 278.67 pounds with an 8.20-pound average. Fifteen teams were able to bring a full two fish creel to the scales.

Team Reel Guys, captained by Marshall West and Joby Wetzel, continued its strong showings with another first-place finish in winning TWT. They had a total weight of 22.61 pounds.
Team Reel Guys also won the Team Wildman Big Fish award sponsored by the Nichols Store with a 12.56-pound striper.

Finishing in second place with a total weight of 19.41 pounds was Team Sea-n-Stripes captained by Chip Bragg along with Ryan Eubanks, Hunter Bragg, and Kendal Eubanks. Finishing in third place with a total weight of 19.12 pounds was Team Been Lure’d In captained by John Temple along with Ty Taylor.

Youth Angler Awards – Hunter Bragg and Kendal Eubanks (Team Sea-n-Stripes)
Middle of the Pack – Team Even Kreel
Smallest Creel – Team Wynn One (6.07 lbs.)
The Synergy Therapy Live Release Award winner – Team Reel Guys (12.56-pound striper)

Midlands Striper Club will hold its next monthly meeting March 12 at 7 p.m. at the Flight Deck in Lexington. The next tournament will take place out of Dreher Island at Shelter 2 on March 16.
