LEXINGTON, S.C. – A North Carolina man is in custody following an investigation by Lexington County narcotics agents that led to multiple fentanyl trafficking charges.
Brandon Ulysses Pinkard, 41, was arrested last month and faces three counts of trafficking fentanyl in connection with controlled drug purchases conducted earlier this year, according to arrest warrants.
“On two separate occasions in April, investigators with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) conducted controlled purchases of fentanyl from Pinkard at a residence on YMCA Road,” said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon. “In May, Pinkard facilitated another controlled purchase on Jamil Road in Columbia.”
Sheriff Koon emphasized the dangers of fentanyl and the department’s commitment to removing it from the streets.
“Even small amounts of fentanyl can be deadly, especially when it’s pressed into pills or mixed with heroin and cocaine,” Koon said. “We’re committed to stopping the flow of fentanyl and preventing the devastation it brings to our communities.”
Pinkard is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
