Rawls Creek Park Basketball Court Opens, Draws Early Crowds

IRMO — A newly completed basketball court at Rawls Creek Park is now open and already attracting players from across the community.

The Town of Irmo finished construction on the court in rapid fashion, delivering a fresh recreational amenity that features a fully painted playing surface, new hoops, park benches and a water fountain. Since opening, the court has seen steady use from residents eager to take advantage of the upgraded space.

The addition marks another step in the continued expansion of Rawls Creek Park, which has become a central hub for outdoor activity in the area. The park currently includes two dog parks, a community garden and a skateboard park, offering a variety of options for visitors of all ages.

Looking ahead, town officials are planning an all-inclusive, all-ages connectivity park designed to enhance accessibility and create a more unified recreational experience for the community.

Located at 1113 Friarsgate Boulevard, Rawls Creek Park continues to evolve as a key destination for recreation and community gathering in Irmo.
