Run for God Program Starts on February 11 at Riverland Hills Baptist Church

Riverland Hills Baptist Church is launching a 12-week “Run for God” program starting on February 11. This program combines a weekly Bible study with group training sessions to prepare participants for a 5k (3.1-mile) or a 10k (6.2-mile) road race. A 5k walking program is also available, and individuals completing the program will participate in a local road race on May 4.

Program Details:

  • Meeting Schedule: Three times a week at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, located at 201 Lake Murray Boulevard.
    • Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 6 pm.
  • Start Date: February 11.
  • Bible Study: The weekly Bible study highlights parallels between endurance running and the endurance required by one’s faith.
  • Group Training Sessions: Participants run and walk with the support of their group.

The Run for God program is designed for beginners, and no prior experience is required. Adults and children in 7th grade and older (with a parent) are welcome to participate. The program fee is $50 for new participants, which includes two race shirts and entry into the “May the 4th Be With You 5k” on May 4 at Saluda Shoals Park. The registration deadline is February 4.
