Saluda Shoals set to kick off the holidays

Saluda Shoals Park will kick off the holidays with the Sleigh Bell Stroll and Trot on November 22 and 23 the Stroll is a nighttime family fun walk and the Trot is a four-mile run amid the light displays of Holiday Lights on the River.

Participants will run or walk through an expanded race route featuring millions of colorful lights and animated displays during the kick-off to Holiday Lights on the River. All parking for the Stroll and Trot will be at Saluda Shoals Park’s east entrance located at 6071 St. Andrews Road. Both the Stroll and Trot will start and finish at the east end of the Park. There will be no shuttle bus this year to transport walkers back to Saluda Shoals Park East. 

The Sleigh Bell Stroll will be on November 22, 6 – 8 pm. The cost is $5 per person two and younger are free. 

The Sleigh Bell Trot Trot is a four-mile timed race on November 23 starting at 7 pm. The Trot has early bird sign-up specials. Up to November 12, the cost is $30 per person; November 13–22, $35 per person. It will cost $40 per person on the day of the event. Military discounts are available. 

Awards will be given to the top three Sleigh Bell Trot finishers male and female in different age brackets.

For safety reasons do not bring dogs to the Sleigh Bell Stroll or Trot.

Opening to the public November 24, Holiday Lights on the River, brought to you in partnership with Lexington Medical Center, will run every night through December 31 from 6 pm until 10 pm.

Admission is $25 per car, $50 per 12–15 passenger van, trucks w/ trailers, limos and $75 per bus. Additional information is available by calling 803-772-1228 or online at www.icrc.net.
