Shepherd’s Center Fall Session Begins September 16

COLUMBIA — The Shepherd’s Center of St. Andrews will launch its Fall Session of Adventures in Learning on September 16, offering active adults 50 and older a chance to stretch both mind and body while making new friends.

The eight-week program meets Tuesdays onsite at Ashland United Methodist Church, 2600 Ashland Road, Columbia, and Wednesdays and Thursdays online via Zoom. Classes are led by knowledgeable volunteers from area colleges and the community.

Courses range from chair yoga and line dancing to The Hidden History of the Celts, Spanish (three levels), quilting, watercolor, and Mah Jongg. Other options include discussions like Men’s Corner, explorations of Adrenaline for Living Well, and the lighthearted Famous Amos: The Minor Prophet, Not the Cookie. Music lovers can join the Strumming Fun Jam for ukulele, banjo, guitar, and mandolin.

Zoom sessions are live, with many recorded for later viewing. Registered members also have access to the Center’s library of past courses.

The cost is $45 for unlimited classes and activities. For details or to register, visit shepherdscenterofstandrews.org or call 803-731-9394 to request a brochure.
