COLUMBIA, S.C. – Columbia’s beloved Soda City Market has earned the title of Best Farmers Market in the United States in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards — a prestigious honor that celebrates the market’s vibrant role in the city’s economy and community.
Held weekly on Main Street, Soda City Market draws 7,000 to 10,000 visitors who come to explore more than 200 diverse vendors—including local farmers, food trucks, artists, makers, and performers. The market has become a cornerstone of connection, creativity, and local commerce in the Midlands.
From March 17 through April 14, readers across the country cast their votes, with Soda City Market leading the national vote throughout the entire contest period and ultimately clinching the top spot among 20 finalists.
“This national recognition is not only a win for Soda City Market, but for the entire Columbia community,” said Soda City Market Founder Emile DeFelice. “The Market team extends a special thank you to the City of Columbia, the Main Street District, our presenting partner MUSC Health, and all our community partners whose continued support and trust have been essential to the Market’s growth and success.”
