IRMO — The Town of Irmo has announced the promotion of Danielle McNaughton to Director of Communications and Special Events.
A resident of Irmo for more than 20 years, McNaughton brings both a strong personal connection to the community and extensive professional experience to her new leadership role. In her expanded position, she will oversee the town’s strategic messaging, brand awareness and the execution of community-focused projects aligned with Irmo’s long-term vision of remaining a safe, distinctive and attractive community for families and local businesses.
“My professional focus is deeply intertwined with the place I proudly call home,” McNaughton said. “I am committed to showcasing Irmo’s scenic beauty, cultural resources and economic vitality, making it an even better place for everyone to live and work.”
As Director, McNaughton will lead the development of comprehensive marketing and communications strategies while managing special events designed to bring residents together and strengthen civic pride. Her background in content creation and project management will play a key role in highlighting the unique qualities that define the Irmo community.
Her areas of focus include increasing brand awareness by telling Irmo’s story through its recreational and economic strengths, strengthening stakeholder relationships among town officials, residents and partner organizations, and planning and executing events and special projects that foster community engagement.
Town officials said McNaughton’s promotion reflects the town’s commitment to transparent, engaging communication and a welcoming atmosphere for residents, visitors and businesses alike.
