The Town of Irmo honored all armed forces veterans and rededicated the Irmo Veterans Park during a ceremony held on Veterans Day, November 11, 2025.
The Military Women’s Memorial Ambassador of South Carolina, Shelly Langston, USN, addressed the guests and introduced the color guard and the singing of the national anthem by the vocal group ‘All For Him.’

Brian Harki, American Legion Post 174 Chaplain gave the invocation and the Posting of the Colors was presented by American Legion Post 174 Color Guard.
Mayor Bill Danielson shared memories in honor of his father, a World War II combat veteran and introduced Command Sergeant Major (RET) John Yarborough. Yarborough talked about the importance of the veterans the service they brought to their country. He is a resident of Irmo and has 42 years of law enforcement service with 40 of those years in the military. He is employed by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
The Irmo Veterans Park has seen new additions recently added including a gazebo that has lights, benches and a fan. Also, newly installed sod and fresh landscaping along with a shaded walking trail which features benches and eight outdoor fitness stations.

The Irmo Veterans Park is located on Palmetto Wood Parkway.
