Whitehall celebrates USA 250th anniversary with curbside flags

Whitehall subdivision is sporting thousands upon thousands of American flags along the streets in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States of American this July 4th.

The streets are lined with uniformly spaced flags that are roughly 18” apart.  Lester Blackwell began decorating the street 16 years ago with just a few flags and has watched it grow to more than 10,000 flags today. Whitehall decorates three times a year on Memorial Day, Fourth of July and on Veterans Day. “It’s important that we show this respect and honor,” said Blackwell.
