Members of the St. Andrews Woman’s Club recently volunteered at Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS) as part of a statewide Day of Service.
Volunteers spent the morning cleaning the facility and organizing materials and equipment used in the training of service dogs. The group also toured the facility and observed a demonstration led by a PAALS trainer and service dog.
PAALS trains and places service dogs with children and adults with disabilities, including individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder, autism, and mobility or neurological conditions. The organization also provides facility dogs for therapeutic settings.
In 2025, the St. Andrews Woman’s Club sponsored the naming of a trained service dog.
