4th Annual Irmo Community Earth Day Celebration Set for April 18 at McGregor Learning Garden

IRMO, SC — The community is invited to celebrate sustainability, nature, and local talent at the 4th Annual Irmo Community Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McGregor Learning Garden.

Award-winning band Carolina Bluegrass Style—recipient of Nashville’s Josie 2025 Bluegrass Group of the Year Award—will be featured during the event. Attendees can enjoy the band’s unique blend of bluegrass, rock, reggae, and classical music from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Plants and animals will also take center stage throughout the celebration. Guests can explore McGregor’s garden, participate in a plant swap, and purchase plants to support eco-projects at McGregor Pre-School and Irmo Middle School.

Local organizations Snug Harbor Wildlife Rescue and Sanctuary and Final Victory Animal Rescue will be on-site with animals, offering attendees an opportunity to learn more about wildlife and pet adoption efforts.

The event will also feature interactive activities for all ages, including the chance to build your own native bee house. Additional highlights include free food, door prizes, and educational stations designed for both children and adults.

Community members are encouraged to bring items to donate for local causes, including shoes, textiles, plastic bags, and rechargeable devices. Attendees can also bring knives and tools for sharpening by Sharp Edges, with a $5 donation per item benefiting District Five’s Snack Pack Program.

A variety of items will be available for purchase, including T-shirts, children’s books, artisan bread, and handmade crafts.

This free, family-friendly event is open to everyone.
