803 Day Returns for Second Annual Celebration of Community and Culture

The Midlands is gearing up for a weekend of unity, creativity, and local pride as the second annual 803 Day celebration returns August 1–3. The multi-day event honors the 803 area code—recognized each year on August 3 (8/03)—with community-wide activities, small business promotions, and family-friendly fun.

Organizers invite residents and visitors to show their 803 pride by participating in a packed lineup of events and experiences across the region.

Event Highlights

  • Pre-803 Day Mixer
    August 1 – West Columbia
A private networking kickoff for sponsors and community leaders to connect and celebrate the upcoming festivities.

  • 803 Day 5K Run/Walk
    August 2 – Forest Acres
All fitness levels are welcome for this fun run/walk through Forest Acres. Proceeds benefit The Cola Rose Shower, a nonprofit supporting feminine health and wellness.

  • Citywide Scavenger Hunt
    August 2–3
Powered by the Soda City Certified app, this interactive hunt leads participants to landmarks, murals, and local gems. Solve clues, earn points, and win prizes while exploring the heart of the 803.

  • $8.03 Specials
    August 2–3 – Participating Businesses
Dozens of local businesses—including East Bay Deli, Trini Lime Caribbean Café, Peach Cobbler Factory, and more—will offer $8.03 deals to encourage shopping local.

  • Free 803 Day Festival
August 3 – Doko Meadows Park, Blythewood
This family-friendly festival features live music, food trucks, vendors, and interactive art. Guests can also opt for indoor VIP access at Doko Manor for $75, which includes early entry, a private bar, hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails, and keepsakes.

Community support efforts are also a focus of this year’s festival. Attendees are encouraged to bring:

    • Canned goods for Christian Assistance Bridge (serving Blythewood and surrounding areas)

    • School supplies for the JoO Foundation, which supports local youth and families

Get Involved

Whether you’re a runner, a volunteer, or a small business owner, there are plenty of ways to be part of 803 Day:

  • Volunteer at the mixer, 5K, or festival

  • Sponsor an event or contribute water, snacks, or prizes

  • Exhibit/Vend at the festival

  • Join the 5K or host a scavenger hunt stop

“803 Day is more than just a weekend of events—it’s a celebration of identity and unity,” said event organizer Khali Gallman. “We’re creating opportunities for connection, commerce, and community pride. Everyone has a place at 803 Day.”
