Astronomy students learn about what’s new in the universe

Five members of the Irmo High School Astronomy classes, along with their instructor Jeff Cameron, got to listen to a presentation by world-renowned Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, at the Koger Center January 11.

Tyson spoke on Astronomy topics that have made the news in the past two years. His lecture was entitled “What’s New in the Universe?” and included such topics as the recent and ongoing Artemis Mission, research on Mars, advancements in telescopes including the JWST (James Webb Space Telescope) and a multitude of other topics all of which the class has studied this year.
