Candidate Filing Open for Columbia’s November Municipal Election

The City of Columbia will hold its Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 4. Offices on the ballot include:

  • Mayor

  • Councilmember – District One

  • Councilmember – District Four

  • Councilmember – At-Large

Candidate filing is now open and will close at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15.

To run for office, qualified electors must file a Statement of Intention of Candidacy and pay the required filing fee:

  • $1,000 for Mayor

  • $530 for City Council

Checks should be made payable to City of Columbia.

Weekdays: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

In addition to filing in person, candidates must complete:

  • A Statement of Economic Interest

  • A Candidate Campaign Disclosure form

Note: This is a non-partisan election. No political party affiliation will appear on the ballot.
