The Irmo Police Department extends its gratitude to Brian Pena, who has spent the last 5 years delving into the history of Irmo Police Chiefs. Brian’s unparalleled historical research has been a labor of love, culminating in a remarkable contribution unveiled at the recent Irmo Town Council Meeting.
During the meeting, Brian presented an extraordinary framed collection featuring photographs of all but 5 of our 33 Police Chiefs. This captivating display also includes the original Chief of Police badge dating back to the 1890s, last worn by Chief Nivens in the 1960s. The event was graced by the presence of 11 former Irmo Police Chiefs, alongside the current Chief, Bobby Dale.
Many thanks to Brian Pena for allowing us the privilege of showcasing and honoring the rich history of the Irmo Police Department. His dedication and efforts have truly preserved the legacy of those who have served our community as Police Chiefs over the years.
