Chapin Cheerleaders Honored at State House Following 19th State Title

COLUMBIA – The 2025 state champion cheerleaders from Chapin High School were recognized last week at the South Carolina State House by Nathan Ballentine and Jay Kilmartin.

The recognition comes after the program secured its 19th state championship—and its 17th title in the past 21 years—cementing its place as one of the most dominant programs in the state.

Joining the team for the honor were Head Coach Vicki Williams, Athletic Director Billie Williams and Principal Ed Davis.

The program’s championship history spans more than two decades, with titles in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Whether competing in 2A, 3A, 4A or 5A, Chapin has maintained a standard of excellence that few programs can match.

This year’s recognition also marked a historic moment for Lexington-Richland School District Five, as Billie Williams—who joined the celebration—serves as the district’s first female athletic director in its 75-year history.

The results, as they say, speak for themselves.
